Multi Camera Streaming

The Litenet Solution

For those larger churches, or churches that want a more polished production, there are many solutions for using multiple cameras.

We've designed a system of cameras and equipment to help make this as easy as possible.  Fully installed with respect for the buildings, and taking into consideration directions from faculty, the live streaming can be set up in minutes and operated by volunteers with very little technical knowledge.

For those of you feeling a little more adventurous, the advanced video switching hardware can overlay graphics, transition effects, picture-in-picture and even has green screen capability!

Below is an example of our easy to use solution.  We do have options on the hardware to include remote PTZ (Pan, Tilt, Zoom) cameras, Atem Mini Pro and Extreme models, and much more besides.

We design each solution to fit your exact requirements.

Most churches opt for a three camera system, with a close up view of the Altar, another on the Lecturn and a third with a wide angled view of the main church.

It's also possible to add portable cameras such as the Mevo or a D-SLR for changing views at events such as weddings, funerals and christenings/baptisms.

Internet Connectivity

Internet connectivity is the most important part of any live streaming solution.

HD Quality Cameras

High Definition block cameras from Datavideo (as pictured), mounted sympathetically to the building in permanent locations, give crystal clear pictures without having to set up and take down each week.

Power over Ethernet ensures cameras can be mounted remotely with no need for local power supply and with a selection of different mounting brackets, clamps and arms.

Faculty is appeased by the discreet nature, various mounting methods, and simple cabling requirements of the cameras.

The Brains

The Atem Mini from Blackmagic designs is a simple, yet incredibly powerful, video switching device that can be used straight out of the box with very little training.  Packed with powerful features such as chromakeying (green screen to you and me), for those of a more advanced technical ability, as well as different fades, transitions and an image library for beginning and end scenes.

Easily switch between four different cameras at the touch of a button, 4 HDMI inputs give you the potential for a great selection of angles and views.

Installing cables in a church

Expert Installation

Each camera requires a single co-ax cable for the SDI video feed and a single ethernet cable from a centralised power supply, keeping installation and location requirements to a minimum.

We understand the specific nuances of working in buildings which are quite often several hundred years old and potentially listed.

Wherever possible we follow existing cable routes, using light coloured cable to that the aesthetics of the building are impacted as little as possible.

Audio Sources

A good video is nothing without sound, and the key to a good live stream is ensuring the quality of the audio is as good as the quality of the video.

The Atem Mini has two audio inputs, and we carry a multitude of connectors and cables to ensure we can receive an audio feed from your existing PA system straight into the video feed.

No PA system?  We can provide everything from simple ambient microphones, capturing the natural acoustics, to a full PA system with microphones and loudspeakers.

Installing 4G antenna

Internet Connectivity

To stream effectively in good quality, you will need an internet connection with an UPLOAD speed of 6Mbps MINIMUM.  In almost all cases a standard ADSL connection is not sufficient.  However, there are other options.

We have used Mobile 4G to good effect, we can check to see if there are Fibre connections available in your area, and we can even beam a good internet connection from another local building using point-to-point WiFi links.  Whatever the issue, we have a solution for it.

Peripheral Equipment

You don't need expensive high powered Macs, with elaborate production software.  Great results can be had with a mid-range laptop and the free OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) platform.

By letting the Atem Mini take care of the resource hungry video switching, the laptop is left to manage the streaming capabilities.  Either direct to social media, or through a streaming distribution platform such as Restream.io or Castr.io, which enables you to reach multiple social media platforms with a single stream.
